Although this website mainly focuses on Andalusia, some places beyond the region felt worth including. This small collection brings together a selection of photographs from elsewhere in Spain that stood out through their landscapes, atmosphere or character. Rather than aiming to be complete, these images offer a glimpse of places that complement the spirit of Andaluseeya.
Barcelona: the Sagrada Familia
The next picture of the Sagrada Familia was taken on a bus on Carrer de la Marina in May 2026, just after the finishing of the Tower of Jezus Christ.
The Tower of Jesus Christ is topped with a three-dimensional four-armed cross consisting of glass and ceramic and is on itself 17 metres tall and 13.5 metres wide. With the completion of the central tower, The Sagrada Familia in Barcelona has officially reached its final, maximum height of 172.5 meters (566 feet). This makes the status as the tallest church in the world.
Tossa De Mar (Catalonia)
Below you see the castle and the walls in Tossa de Mar in Catalonia at the Costa Brava.
In the foreground, the bronze statue of Minerva can be seen. Created by Frederic Marès, a sculptor from Girona, it was installed in 1979 and forms part of the Inventari del Patrimoni Arquitectònic de Catalunya.
Alicante’s Explanada de España maritime promenade and the Portal de Elche square
The Explanada de España is Alicante’s maritime promenade, stretching 600 meters along the marina. It is famous for its unique wavy floor mosaic crafted from over six million red, blue, and white marble tiles. Lined with four elegant rows of towering palm trees, this walkway serves as the perfect setting for a scenic Mediterranean stroll.
Below you can see the Plaza Portal de Elche, a historic central square in Alicante famous for its four massive, century-old Ficus macrophylla trees. On the right you see the Soho Parc kiosk-cafe, a popular spot to sit outside for a drink in the shade.
