Highlights of Málaga Province
Peña de los Enamorados, “The Sleeping Giant” or “Montaña del Indio” (880 metres above sea level) – near Antequera (Málaga province).
El tajo de Ronda (Málaga province) seen from the Puente Nuevo (above). The 200-meter-deep ravine runs straight through the city of Ronda, which is situated on a rocky plateau. Three bridges connect the old city with the new part.
The “Casa del Rey Moro” (House of the Moorish King) in Ronda, with its terraced gardens, is home to various peacocks (below).
Parks and nature in Málaga City
In the Parque del Oeste on Carretera de Cádiz, the pond is inhabited by a pair of black swans.
On the Carretera de Cádiz, in the Huelin district of Málaga, lies the Parque Huelín. The pond has an island of palm trees in its center and is home to several families of ducks.
Across the city of Málaga, you can find several very old Ficus macrophylla trees, such as those in the Jardines Picasso above and on Plaza del Teatro below, in the old city centre near Calle Carretería.
